Defense against the flood

The work is located in the city of Gualeguay, entre Ríos. This area had a problem of constant flooding due to its proximity to the rio Gualeguay whose flow rate is 210 m3/s approximately. 

To mitigate this problem, we performed the works of “defense costanera sur”: 

– Opening of a new arm of the rio Gualeguay by dredging and construction of a dam with refulado interrupting the natural course of the river. Thus, we form a reservoir in the arm originating in front of the city to regulate the water level through a system of gates and a pumping station.

– Protection against waves of edges coastal, in more 4km, on an embankment of defense built in form mixed with sand refulado and compacted soil traditional.

– Execution and coating of drainage canals of the city, the construction of sewers, new roads, pavement and improved dirt roads.

– Management of the landfill and construction of the separation plant of urban waste.

– Strengthening of the defence of the north.
